YOGA FOUND ME, AND I FOUND MY WAY

I’ve been practicing yoga since 1996, but it wasn’t until I took my first teacher training at Jaya Yoga Center in 2011 that I truly committed to the practice. For decades, I struggled with chronic back and knee pain. Even with consistent asana practice, there were times when the pain was so debilitating that it would keep me from exercising for weeks.

In 2009, I attended a Yin Yoga workshop with Sarah Powers in New York City—and there, I realized I had forgotten one essential piece of yoga: slow down.

The stillness of Yin Yoga transformed my practice and my body. My studies with Sarah and Ty Powers through the Insight Yoga Institute, Jo Phee of Yinspiration, and Paul and Suzee Grilley have deepened my understanding of stillness, functional movement, meditation, and breathwork, with a truly medicinal approach. Adding Qi Gong and meridian exercises has helped me listen to my body in a whole new way, honoring the cues of my unique anatomy. This slow, mindful method has been a gift, opening the door to healing from the inside out.

Join me in person or online for hybrid classes at my Brooklyn studio, where we explore seasonally inspired “Movement Medicine” practices. Classes are small and require advance registration. As each class fills, I add more sessions. I am currently offering monthly workshops where every class is curated to meet you exactly where you are, supporting your body, mind, and energy. I hope to see you on the mat soon!
